While much of the region dealt with waist-deep floodwaters and widespread power outages, one neighborhood remained a beacon of hope. Hunters Point, a community designed to withstand the most extreme hurricanes, kept its lights on and homes dry, delivering on its promise to safeguard its residents and their future.

As the surrounding homes fell into darkness, the residents of Hunters Point remained secure with power, their homes fortified by reinforced walls, steel structures, and elevated foundations to stay above the surging floodwaters—proof that we can face climate-driven challenges head-on.

Since welcoming its first residents in 2022, Hunters Point has already survived three major hurricanes: Ian, Idalia, and now Helene. This community represents what is possible when we choose to adapt.
